About Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional system of medicine that has been practiced for nearly 2000 years.
It is particularly suited to modern life in that physical, emotional and psychological well being are seen as independent and the focus is on the whole individual rather than their symptoms alone.
An Acupuncturist will look at pain and illness as signs that the body is out of balance.
This being the case health may be restored by using fine, sterile needles in specific points to stimulate, move or reduce the flow of energy so that the body can begin to heal itself.
During your first visit I will take a full case history which involves asking
questions about your main complaint, as well as asking about your general health e.g. current symptoms, medical history, sleep patterns, appetite and digestion, emotional well being etc. This will enable me to make a diagnosis and put together a treatment plan
designed specifically for you.
